Community Garden

Mission

The Franklin Commons Community Garden provides a place for our members to grow and harvest organic produce and flowers and provides a natural green space for our neighbors to enjoy. Common activities in our garden include garden workshops and classes, yoga, neighborhood cook-outs, and neighborhood socials.

Rules

Each gardener must understand and agree to the following rules and responsibilities before gardening within the Franklin Commons Neighborhood Association’s Community Garden:


  1. Anyone may enjoy the park and its scenery but gardening is restricted to Franklin Commons Neighborhood Association’s dues paying members who have also paid their annual plot rent.

  2. Chemical weed killers, fertilizers and pesticides are not permitted.

  3. Disrespectful/abusive language or destructive behavior will result in the immediate loss of all gardening privileges and forfeiture of any crops remaining in the garden

  4. Gardeners are responsible for planting, weeding, cultivating, and maintaining their plots.

  5. Gardeners are responsible for clearing all plant and trellis materials out of their plots at the end of each gardening season. Dead material should be placed in compost piles.
